Bita Lake Nature Reserve, located in the eastern part of county town of Shangri-la, is 35 km away from the county town of Shangri-la. The nature reserve centers on Bita Lake, which is adjacent to Luoji Village to the east, south and north and borders on Jianjian Town. The length of its longitudinal distance approximately hits 60 km, and its latitudinal length approximately hits 14 km wide, covering a total area of 1,418 hectares. Tibetan meaning of "Bita Lake" is the place where oak trees form mats. There are wide varieties of national senior protected animals and plants in the reserve, including the fish named to be "hemibarbus labeo" by biologists. The fish is prehistoric life left from ancient quaternary glacial period, and it is succulent tender and delicious, spreading the session of the dish titled with "Salted Fish with Eggplant ".
Bita Lake, located at core of the reserve, is featured with 3,539 m of elevation above the lake, approximate 3,000 m of transversal distance, approximate 700 m of width in longitudinal distance with maximum width of 1,500 m and minimum width of 300 m approximately, average depth of 20 m, and maximum deep of 40 m.
To visit Bita Lake, take the bus from county seat of Zhongdian to Shuangqiao with the ticket price of 20 Yuan. The distance of the road extends by 25 km, and the remaining trip to the lake may be reached on foot or riding a horse with the rent of 30 Yuan. You are recommended to walk, in that way you are allowed to exceptional dialogue between the nature and inner heart when you shuttle amid the woods.

Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, namely "Guihua Monastery", is five kilometers away from Shangri-la County. It is a provincial key cultural relic protection unit. The monastery is largest famed Tibetan Buddhism temple in Yunnan. The monastery covers an area of 500 Mu and is fenced with a solid and thick city wall. The monastery is set up with five gates including Zhaya Gate, Duke Gate, Dongwang Gate, Longba Gate and Lugu Gate. Two primary temples including Zhacang Temple and Jikang Temple are built at the highest points and middle of the monastery. The monastery, facing to the south, is engraved five-storey building construction. And 1,600 people may be accommodated to sit down to chant Buddhism scripture. Surrounding walls are "cabinets of numerous rolls" of Tibetan scriptures, and the main hall is consecrated with the bronze statue of the 5th generation of Dalai.
Stupas of famous monks' remains are lined up, and dazzling gold, silver, and famous paintings are treated internally. Soaring tower for bells and drums are erective, and the sound is hearable within the distance of 5km when the drumming for time telling is given out in the morning, afternoon and evening; the roof is decorated with glazed tiles and looks like the palace, shining flashing golden light, brilliantly and splendidly. "The Buddha shines are noticeable around 50km approximately."
Ganden Sumtseling Monastery, 5 km away from Zhongdian County, may be reached by taking No.3 Bus at Jiaotong Hotel stop of the county seat, and it is also reachable by take minibus exclusively for tourists with the fares of 2 Yuan and by taxi with the expense of 10 Yuan to arrive.

Baishuitai located at Baidi Administrative Village, Sanbai Town in the southeast of Shangri-la County and 101 km away from the county seat, is erected with the elevation of 2,380 m, and it evolves from that the calcium bicarbonate in the water undergoes the decomposition reaction of by sunlight, and forms calcium carbonate, a white sediment, constantly covering the surface and thereby forming various karst landform.
Baishuitai, called "Baipuzhi" in Naxi language, indicates increasingly growing flowers, and it is one of biggest Huaquan terraces in China. It covers an area of about 3 square kilometers. Baishuitai is not only a scenic destination but also one of cradles of Naxi Dongba culture.
