If you have ever been to Dongchuan Red Soil and Hani Terrace, you will believe that wind has its color. 

Lands in deep red, purple, bright red, etc., cover thousands of mountains. When wind blows, the plants in fields wave tenderly. It is a colorful picture drew by the nature. Viewing it from away, it looks like a oil painting more than a Chinese painting. 

Hani terrace in Yuanyang has a history of over 1,300 years. During thousand years' development and cultivation, Hani terrace has formed a "terrace – village – water system– woods" recycle agricultural system, and is called a miracle in China even in the world. The UNESCO's World Heritage Committee inscribed China's cultural landscape of Honghe Hani Rice Terraces onto the prestigious World Heritage List in June, bringing the total number of World Heritage Sites in China to 45.

Yunnan is the paradise for photography.

Suggested itinerary for photography tour 1: 

Feature: 

You can see different colors during four seasons. Soils show soft lines, it's the perfect place for shooting.

Best shooting time: 

Four seasons. In spring, take a picture of the bright flower-covered field. In summer, you shoot the woodcut-like mulch. In autumn, you can shoot rape flowers and sunset glow. In winter you have the first snow photographed.

Tips: 

The height of the scenic spot is 2,400 meters. It is a cold area with less vegetation. So there is a large temperature difference between day and night. Please keep warm.

Arrangement:

D1 Take a car from Kunming to Xintian township and Fazhe Township via Aziying. Live inFazhe township

D2 Take photos in Fazhe Township, Xintian Township and Damakan. Live in Fazhe township

D3 Take photos in Niujie and the tree. Take a car to Kunming in the afternoon. Live in Kunming

Jianshui old town and Yuanyang Hani terrace

All year suitable for Jianshui, November-March for Yuanyang Terrace

Arrangement:

D1 Take a car from Kunming to Jianshui (about 3 hours). Upon arrival, take photos of Jianshui old town, Zhu Garden, Confucian temple, old wells, Shuanglong Bridge. Enjoy a local play of Jianshui (in Zhu Garden). Live in Jianshui

D2 After shooting Tuanshan Village, take a car to Yuanyang (about 3 hours). Upon arrival, take photos of Jingkou Village Terrace and the sunset at Laohuju Terrace jin Panzhihua County. Live in Duoyishu Village of Yuanyang.

D3 Take photos of sunrise in the terrace of Duoyishu Village, then head for Sheng Village, Bada County to shoot views of terrace. After lunch, take pictures of sunset in Hani Village in Jingkou and Longshuba. Live in Jingkou Village, Yuanyang

D4 Take photos of sunrise in the terrace of Duoyishu Village again, and then take photos of the mushroom view in sea of clouds in Jingkou Village. Take a car to Kunming in the afternoon. Live in Kunming.

Shangri-la (Dukezong, Napa Sea, Xiaji Village, Pudacuo National Park, the Tiger Leaping Gorge)

Feature: 

There is a Shangri-la in everyone's mind though there has already been a real Shangri-la.

Best shooting time: 

Take photos of azaleas in Huadian and Pudacuo of Napa Sea every May and June; shoot the after-snow Napa Sea and snow-covered Pudacuo in the winter. Shoot the custom of Tibetans on New Year (Tibetan calendar).

Arrangement:

D1 Take a car from Kunming to Dali via Kun-Da expressway (about 5 hours), and then go through Jianchuang, Eryuan to Shangri-la (about 4 hours). Take photos of the night view in Dukezong old town, Shangri-la. Live in Shangri-la

D2 Arrive at Napa Sea and Yila prairie, and shoot the first rays of the morning sun, smoke from the chimney, cattle and sheep, and the sea of flower. Visit and shoot Gadansongzan Temple in the afternoon. Visit a Tibetan family in the evening. Live in Shangri-la.

D3 Shoot Tibetan people's life in Xiaji Tibetan Cultural Village in the morning, and then visit and shoot in Pudacuo National Park. Live in Shangri-la

D4 Come to the Tiger Leaping Gorge and take photos. Arrive at Lijiang in the evening, and shoot the nightlife. Live in Lijiang

D5 Return to Kunming from Lijiang. Live in Kunming

September 9 to March 3 (lunar calendar)

Tips: 

The best season for shooting black-necked cranes is winter. In the winter, the temperature in Dashanbao is around 10 degrees below zero. And the height of the shooting spot is around 3,500 meters. So please keep warm and pay attention to the altitude reaction.
